There was an unusual feel to this rally, at 4 nights it was longer than a weekend but shorter than a holiday rally. Units arrived on different days, there were even three there before it started.
Held at the Canterbury camping and caravan club site, we had a slight restriction in that we were supposed to vacate by midday Sunday, we therefore decided to hold rally meet on saturday evening, but more of that later.
The 'get together' meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening was held in the queue for the fish and chip van, which had turned up early and caught us all by surprise and the hot food ensured that the meeting did not last long as everyone withdrew into there units to eat.
Most people ventured out and about into Canterbury and surrounding Kent countryside, with a group of three hardy souls taking a day trip to France.
A local couple who own a Dandy, Ruth Smith and her husband (I think he was called Frank) from Whitstable, could not make the Rally but popped in for a little while. Ruth presented us with a superb cake Thank you Ruth it was smashing.
The Saturday evening Rally meet was another unusual occurance, which eventually extended into a social evening that ended about 10.30 pm.
The quiz threw up a draw for first place with Viv Rathbone and Paul Levene each winning a free rally night token.
The raffle had a new multi winner Queen with Sue Smith receiving several prizes, I lost count of the exact number. Why is it never the men who win lots of raffle prizes?.
Shortly before the start of the rally meet the staff advised us that the 12pm leaving time had been extended to 3pm which enabled the long distance attendees a chance to leave early for their homeward journey.
Our thanks to all who attend and hope you all enjoyed your stay.
