Award Winning
Holiday rally Cornwall. The site, location and the weather were Superb. A Top class Holiday Location. It was a long drive down, But John and I shared the driving after stopping for a Cuppa and stretch three times during the journey.
Arriving at the site we could see that the duration was worth it. The arranged trip to the Eden Project was very
interesting be you young or not so young. The beaches were great and the
scenery “Breathtaking”. Plenty of Clear and colourful views. The
site had more than ample room for all of the Dandy’s that attended.
Plus all the Tourers and little tents, How brave they were. The Seagulls
were even braver when it came to getting food or anything they fancied.
BBQ’s seemed to be their preferred. I saw one off on one occasion
using a large Brolly that I waved, it seemed miffed and fled. There was
a Dandy version of a Football Tournament, John, Naomi our youngest
daughter and I took part. To my Surprise I won and was presented prize
of a football mug and teabags at the Flag meet held on Thursday evening
to allow those who were leaving on the Friday to join in. This also gave
me the Chance to air “Bert, Ethel” and the Regalia. There were I
think 16 units that attended, some of whom were first timers, but you
couldn’t tell as we all mingled and enjoyed ourselves as seems to be
the Norm’ at all rallies. There were a surprising number of new
Riva/Dandy’s and there was great interest taken in how units were
assembled and how quick some owners had become. It was our first time
with another improved version of the Destiny with which we are extremely
pleased, and we had recently exchanged with our 2 year old.
The Club Regalia is still selling well and is to include Track suite bottoms to complement the Rugby shirts. I enjoy my roles within the Club with the help of Bert, Ethel and not forgetting my “Dogsbody” John who is involved with the carrying and locating of the Regalia and associated items. Soon we will have an awning for it all to hide in. Looking forward to all the other Rallies I can attend this year, I hope they are all as picturesque as Cornwall. Chris Roe, {vice chair and Regalia.}
