A rally in Cornwall sounded idyllic, and as it was for a whole week it would be well worth the 1040 mile round trip. So 13 hours of being cooked in the car later we arrived in St Austell. It certainly was an excellent site with amongst other things an Open air pool, Crazy golf course and a Take away( which came in handy after our marathon trip). Sunday was market day and with the Largest indoor market in Britain just over the road it was too good to miss, especially as I could keep an eye on the Monaco Grand Prix at the Television stalls!!! Then from there we drove the 5 miles or so to Charlestown and its preserved harbour, where we thoroughly enjoyed the Museum which was part of the rock face.
There was a get together on the Tuesday evening. We all got dressed up as elves and pixies and ate Cornish Pasties. Lands End was a must while down in Cornwall, pity we did it on the day with the worst weather. No rain but it was misty and a bit chilly. By Friday we had found the Cider Farm and Miniature World up by Newquay, though some of the attractions at Miniature World did leave me a bit queasy( No it wasn't the Cider!!!). All too soon the week had disappeared and it was time to take a leisurely trip home. Looking back I will always remember the glorious week of Sunny Weather which allowed us to make good use of the outdoor swimming pool( not often you can say that in this country).
