Lady Margaret Hall Rally, April 2002

Maureen and I arrived last of the 31 units, as usual, but just beat the darkening skies. Ted and Hilda Butler (stewards) greeted us and we crossed a rather bumpy field to pitch the Dandy. The usual cross section of Dandy Owners were there plus three couples enjoying their first rally. It was great to see old friends again. After a very cold night Saturday proved to be a nice day and most people visited places in the local area. Maureen and I visited the Robin Hood Centre and Major Oak in Sherwood Forest and then looked in at a large Garden Centre and Gallery near the site. The Centre was awash with Dandy Owners and after an hour's natter we eventually got to look around. The evening entertainment in the on site hall was the usual mixture of daft games and mayhem. Ted and Hilda did us proud. The night was cold once again but we awoke to a lovely sunny Sunday morning and the flag meet was held on the field. George Clark visited for the morning and walked away with most of the raffle prizes. All in all another very good rally and a good start to the season.
