The AGM is over for another year and what an excellent event it turned out to be. There was a lot of trauma before the event as the racecourse had had a race meeting transferred in from Worcester( Due to Foot and Mouth) to be run on the Saturday and it was unclear how this would affect us. In the event the impact was marginal and possibly to our benefit. We had the use of the excellent Queen Mother's Dining Room on the Friday, complete with bar, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm which provided an excellent atmosphere for the renewing of friendships and acquaintanceships.

On the Saturday we were offered entry to the race meeting at a concessional price of £4.00. This provided proper racing for those who took it up. Personally as a non racegoer who went, it seemed to me to provide a real change from the more usual duck racing and I came away better off by a fiver from when I went in and since I have failed to win on the ducks this seemed much better.

Latter Day Ned Kellys!!!

The AGM was without incident.

The evening entertainment was a Dave Jones version of the Generation Game. It was quite wonderful and kept the audience entertained wonderfully for whole evening. Whilst Dave has put on excellent evenings in the past, in my view this surpassed all his earlier efforts and I for one would like to say a big "Thank You" to him.

And whilst on the subject of thank you's a big one must also go to Ron And Beth Bradford who have worked hard over the preceding weeks liasing with the racecourse just to ensure that we could hold the AGM. Having done all that they continued all weekend to make sure the event ran smoothly. Their efforts cannot go unremarked and cannot be over-praised.
