What would your requirement be for the perfect rally? Imagine yourself sitting in the warm evening sun; the balmy wind rustles through the newly mown grass; the sound of the gibbons hooting and the monkeys calling drifts across the savannah as you sip an ice cold glass of the local brew. No, you're not in Kenya, you're at the Banham Zoo rally and the local brew is their home brewed extra strong cider.

It's difficult to have a bad time at a rally when the sun shines non-stop. The site was excellent, their facilities clean, and unlimited access to the zoo (for a small fee) was a bargain for those of us with animal mad children. There was an open-all-hours Spar shop over the road, next to a lovely bakehouse and even more lovely brewhouse(or so I am assured by those who imbibed). Even the warden was thoughtful enough to ensure that we missed none of the sunshine by setting the donkey to go off at four thirty every morning (boy, does that braying carry well in the still morning air!).
There was plenty to do round and about and there were many comments such as "we shall definitely be coming here again". For those of you who were unable to make the rally, I would say mark this site in your book as a must visit when you're next in East Anglia.

Beth Geraghty (totally unbiased report) (yes, I know we wardened it but we had a lovely time too!).
